COLORFUL COASTAL MUSEUM WEDDING | MCASD, SAN DIEGO
X & Y | MCASD, SAN DIEGO
Located along the stunning La Jolla coastline, the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego provided a breathtaking backdrop for a celebration that felt both sophisticated and effortlessly relaxed. The couple envisioned a wedding that embraced the beauty of the coast while incorporating soft, romantic colors that reflected their joyful personalities.
The design featured a delicate palette of blush, buttercream, soft blue, lavender, and peach tones woven throughout the florals, tablescapes, and décor. Organic floral arrangements softened the museum’s modern lines, creating a beautiful contrast between contemporary architecture and romantic garden-inspired details.
One of the most remarkable aspects of the day was the setting itself. Guests enjoyed panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean throughout the celebration, with the natural beauty of the coastline serving as an ever-changing backdrop. As the sun began to set over the water, the venue transformed into a dreamy coastal oasis filled with warm light and unforgettable moments.
The reception embraced a refined yet inviting atmosphere, where thoughtful design met genuine celebration. From heartfelt toasts and incredible food to a packed dance floor overlooking the ocean, every moment reflected the couple’s vision of bringing together art, nature, and the people they love most.
MCASD offered the perfect canvas for a wedding that felt modern, colorful, and distinctly Southern California. The combination of coastal views, contemporary design, and soft pastel details created a celebration that was both timeless and uniquely memorable.
For couples seeking a venue that combines oceanfront beauty with architectural elegance, this pastel-inspired wedding at MCASD is a beautiful example of how modern design and coastal romance can come together seamlessly.

CLIENT LOVE NOTE
I want to express my sincere gratitude for the exceptional service provided by Yi. The services provided by her exceeded both my expectations and the value of the “month of coordination” service we purchased. Even though the service we purchased is only for one month, the intensive work began months before our wedding. Once the contract was executed, she was incredibly proactive. She handled everything from wedding planning and supplier coordination to venue communication and designing the seating chart. She even sent weekly reminders of our to-do list. Long story short, she’s the first person I’d recommend to my best friends who are planning their weddings. My only regret is not hiring her sooner.
Prior to our wedding day, she attended our rehearsal, proactively greeting everyone and introducing herself. She ensured that everyone knew what to do on the wedding day. Moreover, she even went to the linens rental store and picked up the linens, which really saved us a lot of time. The fact that she is strongly organized and proactive gives me confidence that we will have a smooth-running wedding day. She truly was the director of the show.
On the wedding day, she was there in the early morning, directing the makeup artist to the bride’s room and communicating with the venue to ensure the number of tables and chairs was correct. She also collaborates with the florist, ensuring the wedding ceremony decoration was in line with our expectations. Once the ceremony place was set up, she was there communicating the timeline with the officiant, DJ, makeup artist, and photographer, ensuring everything went as smoothly as possible. You know you have a good wedding when you feel your wedding is smooth and error-free, and that is how I feel after the ceremony is over.
